Following is some information for your arrival in Hobart and the conference:
Travel from the airport to the city
Hobart airport is approximately 15 minute by car from the city centre (CBD). There are shuttle buses and taxis that will also take you into the city. The cost of the Airport Shuttle is approximately $18 each way and the taxis would cost approximately $50 each way. Information desks for car rental companies are located outside the main airport terminal building, in front of the Hobart Airport terminal. There are Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) at the Hobart airport.
Registration and the opening session
Registration and the conference opening will be held at the Sandy Bay campus of the University of Tasmania. Registration will open at 11 am on Monday 13 July in the foyer of the Sir Stanley Burbury lecture theatre. The opening ceremony will be held in the Stanley Burbury lecture theatre from 1.45 pm.
The Sandy Bay Campus is approximately 5 minutes’ drive from the city centre or about a 30 minute walk.
Metro buses (bus number 55) leave from Franklin Square Stop “O” in the city (on the corner of Macquarie & Elizabeth Streets) for the Campus (Stop 12). The one-way cost is $3.10 (correct change is preferred). If you decide to catch the bus ask the bus driver when you get on to advise you when you get to the University.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
The conference venue for these days is Hobart College at Mt Nelson. We have arranged buses that will transport you to and from the venue each day.
The buses will leave from Campbell Street, (behind the Grand Chancellor Hotel) at staggered starts.
The first 2 buses will leave at 8.00 am each day
This will get everyone to Hobart College for a 9 am start.
The buses will return you to the same bus stop in Campbell Street at the end of the day.
On Thursday (excursion day) the buses will also leave from Campbell Street.
8.15 am -The excursion to Mt Field and Russell Falls will leave
Details of meeting points and times for other excursions (that do not involve buses) will be provided at the conference.
